Aao Wish Karein !

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Every once in a while a music album is released that you can listen to over and over again. To name a few, Dil Se, Hum Apke Hai Kaun and Rangeela.

For me, Aao Wish Karein has now fallen into that category. The film stars Aftab Shivdasani, Aamna Shariff, Johnny Lever and a plethora of talented actors. Additionally the story concept and screenplay are Aftab’s brain child (How Matt Damon of him).

The music is AMAZING.

Lyrics: Ankur Tewari, Xulfi, and Danish Khan

Music: Ankur Tewari, Xulfi, and Mike Mccleary

The real shining star on this album is Xulfi. He was part of the “Call”, a Pakistani Rock band after the band broke up Bollywood was lucky enough to snatch up Xulfi.

Okay, now for the most important part,

Track 1: “Sabse Peeche Hum Khade,” Singer: Kunal Ganjanwala.

Track 2: “Reh Jaana Do,” Singer: Xulfi. The most fantastic thing about this song is the strong focus on the background arrangement. The strong violin score makes the melody vibrant. Additionally the lyrics are a fusion of romance and philosphy.

Track 3: “Tum Mere Ho,” Singers: Kunal Ganjanwala and Sunidhi Chauhan.

Track 4: “Kuch Asia Ho Jaye,” Singer: Xulfi. This track opens with a beautiful arrangement of the guitar and cello. Once again Xulfi’s voice is sweet and the lyrics sum up the film in a nutshell.

Track 5: “Sabse Peeche Kyon Khade,” Singer: Sunidhi Chauhan.

Track 6: “Sab Yahaan Hai,” Singer: Kunal Ganjanwala. This is an animated and lively number. It almost sounds like a Disney song.

This entire album is spectacular, never a dull moment. The melodies are wonderful and the lyrics are superb. I would recommend Aao Wish Karein as a stocking stuffer this year!
