Bollywood has the Blues for Michael Jackson….

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

As we pay our respects to the King of Pop, I can’t help but wonder how many Bollywood singers, choreographers, and dancers found inspiration in the words and moves of  the one and only Michael Jackson. So I did a little search and thought I would pay a little tribute to the Maharaja,  Bollywood style….

John Abraham…”…Let me say a quiet prayer for Michael Jackson. I cannot fathom such a loss. I have grown up his legacy. For me, he was close to God”

King Khan takes the moonwalk from the King of Pop in his film One 2 Ka Four.

Mithun Chakraborty was so inspired by the man he even named his son after him.

Javed Jaffrey can thank MJ for his rise to fame in his song Bol Baby Bol in Meri Jung done MJ style.

Prabhu Deba performed along with Shobhana and AR Rahman at the Michael Jackson and Friends concert in Munich, Germany.

A.R Rahman himself had quite a memory of MJ to tell the media on his meeting after the Oscars… “He said he loved India and the people of the country. He told me that he heard good things about me and he was praising the chord progression of Jai Ho’s chorus”…. Rahman said the star was bubbling with energy. “He told me that every dance move he did, came from his soul.” Reminiscing the five second-demonstration that the ace performer gave, he said: “It was a stunning example…like a lightning striking.”

Amitabh Bachchan stated on his blog that MJ “personified the impossible”

It saddens me to think that my kids will grow up in a world without MJ…RIP from all of us in Bollywood…
